After the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077, developer CD Projekt Red has made a strong comeback with an impressive expansion. Our Phantom Liberty review praised its improvements to the game’s core systems and the addition of an exciting storyline. With over 3 million copies of the expansion sold, a new edition has been announced, offering both the expansion and the base game at an attractive price for the holidays.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition release date and expected price
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition will be released on December 5 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, in both physical and digital versions. Although the retail price has not been officially confirmed, it is expected to be $59.99, based on previous pricing for similar editions. An official tweet has confirmed the existence of this edition.
This edition may not be named the Game of the Year Edition, but with the game’s initial issues resolved and significant upgrades added, it is an ideal opportunity to purchase Cyberpunk 2077 along with the Phantom Liberty expansion. Exploring the neon-lit world of Night City and encountering Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba is an experience worth having.
CD Projekt Red’s quest director Paweł Sasko reflected on the journey, stating, “If you fail, the only thing that matters is how you’ll be remembered afterwards. Will you just get up and keep going? We kept going, and we managed to make it, and I’m honestly so proud of this team and community.”
Does Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition include Phantom Liberty
The Ultimate Edition includes the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion, available as a digital or physical copy. It is yet to be confirmed whether this edition will offer additional bonuses such as secret content or behind-the-scenes information. Nevertheless, it presents a compelling value proposition, with numerous endings and activities to discover in Night City, even in the base game.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition release on PS4 and Xbox One
The Ultimate Edition will not be available for purchase on the aging PS4 and Xbox One systems, as Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2.0 are exclusive to current-gen consoles.
