God of War Ragnarok Is Going To Get A Free New DLC Update Next Week

In recognition of the tremendous support, the studio will be releasing this downloadable content as a token of appreciation for the game’s success, having sold over 15 million units worldwide. Valhalla will only be available to existing players who bought the game before December 12.

What is God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC?

The DLC’s story serves as an epilogue to God of War: Ragnarok, leading players on a personal journey with Kratos and Mimir to the mysterious shores of Valhalla. It delves into Kratos’s past and internal struggles, offering a fresh narrative perspective.

The expansion features an integrated combat system that combines the familiar mechanics of God of War: Ragnarok with elements inspired by rogue-lite games. When Kratos falls in combat, he can start again, allowing players to gather resources and knowledge for permanent upgrades with each attempt.

The DLC offers extensive customization in terms of equipment and skills. While Kratos retains access to all his weapons and fully upgraded skill trees, players can make strategic choices for each play attempt, including access to stat upgrades and perks that can alter the gameplay. In this expansion, armor is purely visual, allowing players to unlock various styles and mix and match them to their preference.

God of War: Ragnarok: Valhalla Release Date

Players can download it from the PlayStation Store and enjoy it on both PS4 and PS5 platforms. The design of the DLC allows players to access it at any stage of the game and jump in anytime, although finishing the main game first is recommended to avoid spoilers.
